How much fabric do I need

Typical fabric requirements (guide):

• Dress – 2 to 3 metres
• Skirt – 1.5 to 2 metres
• Shirt / blouse – 1 to 1.5 metres
• Trousers – 2 to 2.5 metres
• Children’s outfit – 1 to 2 metres
• Cushion covers – about 0.5 metre
• Quilting / crafts – 0.5 to 1 metre

Tip: Always allow extra for pattern matching, shrinkage and mistakes.

A black ponte roma stretch fabric with a smooth, stable handle and comfortable stretch. Made from a polyester, viscose and spandex blend, this fabric has a medium-heavy 290gsm weight, giving it more body than a lightweight jersey while still keeping enough flexibility for comfortable garments.

At 150cm wide, it is ideal for dressmaking projects such as trousers, skirts, dresses, tunics, jackets and structured everyday wear. The classic black colour makes it a proper wardrobe staple — practical, versatile and easy to pair with almost anything.

Sold by the half metre. Multiple quantities will be cut as one continuous length where possible.
