How much fabric do I need

Typical fabric requirements (guide):

• Dress – 2 to 3 metres
• Skirt – 1.5 to 2 metres
• Shirt / blouse – 1 to 1.5 metres
• Trousers – 2 to 2.5 metres
• Children’s outfit – 1 to 2 metres
• Cushion covers – about 0.5 metre
• Quilting / crafts – 0.5 to 1 metre

Tip: Always allow extra for pattern matching, shrinkage and mistakes.

A practical black polycotton gabardine fabric with a smooth, stable woven handle and a durable medium-weight feel. This Gaberchino fabric has the classic gabardine-style structure that makes it useful for projects needing body, strength and a neat finish.

The polyester content adds durability and easy-care practicality, while the cotton content gives a more comfortable handle and makes the fabric easier to work with. At 197gsm, it has more structure than a lightweight poplin without becoming overly heavy.

Its plain black colour makes it a proper sewing-room staple for uniforms, aprons, costumes, trousers, bags, craft projects and light home accessories.

Sold by the half metre. Multiple quantities will be cut as one continuous length where possible.
